A look back at Necas' 40-year history.
Read a little story about Necas. Here you can find out when Necas was founded, how the company got the name it has today, our succession of directors, etc.
1982
Necas A/S was founded by Flemming Brandt Clausen in Nibe in 1982 under the name Nibe Elektronik Center A/S. The concept was from the beginning to be a "test house", which meant that they tested other manufacturers' assembled circuit boards using an "in-circuit" tester - an advanced measuring equipment, which at that time was in a price range so that only very large companies in the industry could prove it profitable.
1984
In October 1984, the company moved to larger premises in a newly built municipal industrial building in Nibe, which was 600m2 large. Here, in addition to testing, the company also began to mount components, initially supplied by customers, onto printed circuit boards. Later, the company offered to purchase the components for its customers. To make use of the space in the large new premises, an office partnership was established with Ole Jensen - the founder of Digianswer, which was subsequently sold to Motorola.
1985
However, the assembly and testing business proved to be too narrow and could not recoup the investment. Therefore, in 1985, the company had to "reinvent" itself and Tonny Jensen was hired as director to launch the new strategy: "from idea to finished product". A development department was set up with six electronics developers, and the company now also offered total solutions at PCB level.
1988
In 1988, space again became too limited, and the company moved to Sørup near Støvring, where it rented 1,600m2 of premises for production, warehouse and offices.
1993
After a period of changing ownership, where there were problems to make especially the development activities profitable, the company was acquired in 1993 by Eltomatic v/Hans Jørgen Jensen. Ib Gosmer, then managing director at Danphone A/S, was appointed to the board, and a key employee at Nibe Elektronik Center was named managing director.
1995
A new strategy was set for the company's development, and now the focus was on "logistics and processes". Developing the company and adapting it to the changing market conditions and to the advancing technological developments has involved many changes over the years.
2006
From 2006, the strategy was changed to become a full-service EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) partner, sourcing all parts for assembly and integration into finished products. In addition, Necas wanted to offer customer assistance with production modelling at the start-up of new products and systems, thereby moving towards being a strategic partner rather than a subcontractor of component assembly.
2009
Today, Necas is located in Støvring, 20 km south of Aalborg, where in 2009 a fine new factory of 2,500 efficientm2 was built - dedicated to the production of high-tech electronics solutions with advanced process technology and innovative employees.
2009
With the new factory, the company name was also shortened to the more international and more idiomatic Necas(NibeElektronikCenterA/S)
2021
On 1 February 2021, Peter Ladefoged became Necas' new CEO, as Ib Gosmer had chosen to seek new challenges after more than 25 years at Necas. Peter Ladefoged is also a member of Necas' Board of Directors.
